Purpose of treatment

Timber is a wonderful material to work with and it is beautiful in our gardens, as fence, terrace , bridges and many more. The only disadvantage is that it can rotten and / or be attacked by insects and of course it can burn.
But all this can be avoided or at least be reduced if the timber is properly treated. By professional treatment timber can last for 15 years and more, even when used in areas where it is exposed to rain and humidity.
The best method to give the timber a longer life is to use vacuum treatment.

Hazard Class Guide
The risk classes define the use of the timber as follows:

  1. 1.Wood internal dry

  2. 2.Wood under cover

  3. 3.Wood exposed to weathering

  4. 4.Wood in contact with ground or fresh water

For treatment our company uses Wolmanit CX-10. For more information please visit www.wolman.de

Standards and norms

The buyer of the timber must specify what treatment he wants.
The easiest way to specify an order is to use the EN standard. This standard is approved by CEN (European Committee for Standardization www.cenorm.be) and should be adopted by all member states.
However, many states have their own standards, which were introduced long before the European Union developed the EN standard and it takes a long time to harmonize all Europe.
